Seeing real improvements in the awareness of the players and their ability to pick a pass. Think I need to be better at remembering who is in my team as an U11 player said hello to me on the way to burgess and I didn’t know who it was. I said hello anyway. I’ll probably be starting FA coaching level 1 in the summer after exams.
Really enjoyed today’s session. Continued with 11s B and switching play. Good to see players adopt advice that I gave some of them lat week such as opening up your body when calling for the ball. I was also much more active, warming up players and playing a bigger role in the drills.
Started helping under 11s B this week due to their coach Solomon being away for a month, so i was there to help Kennedy. Got to know some of the players quite well. Kennedy lead a drill about switching the ball, and was very impressed with lots of their awareness and vision. I jumped in goal at one point to start one team off with the ball. I made sure the wide players opened out their body so when they receive the ball they can see all their options and are not restricted to just going back to the keeper. They all really enjoyed the session and look forward to their match on Saturday.
